Here is my today’s Ulta order. I bought everything in the Beauty Star Event, used my 20% off coupon code and redeemed 2000 points. I earned 1151 points on this order so I practically only paid 849 points + $2.60 + tax for everything!

You can earn points by redeeming your points during this 10x points event!
I am Diamond member so my base point is 1.5 per dollar spent. Plus, I have 350 pts with $50 purchase. Now I have $125 star items in my cart.
Now let’s compare between paying with cash and points!
Pay with cash, earning points: (1.5 base pts + 9 star pts) x $125 + 350 pts w/$50 purchase = 1662 points, $104.70 value
Pay with points, earning points: (1.5 base pts + 9 star pts) x $125 + 350 pts w/$50 purchase = 1125 points, $70.88 value
So, when I pay with points, I’ll lose 537 points, that’s 1.5 per dollar base point and the $350 bonus points. But I am still earning a good amount of points!
