I am so upset because Walgreens is going to shut down drugstore.com and beauty.com by the end of this September!!! Read the full story here at wsj.com.
They bought the sites for 429 million 5 years ago. Now they want to shut them down!
Why?
Because:
The company is still trying to fine tune its e-commerce strategy but clearly wants to focus more of its resources on one main site. “They want to make sure they can invest more of the equity in Walgreens.com,” said Brian Owens, a director at the consultancy Kantar Retail. “Drugstore.com and Beauty.com are distractions.”
What am I gonna do? -> I am going to keep an eye on their clearance section before the sites are gone!
I have been their customer for more than 10 years, love both sites! 🙁
