My 3 fan shaped blending brushes – Sephora Collection, e.l.f. and NYX

I’d like to show you my 3 fan-shaped blending brushes – their looks, sizes, and my thoughts. It might help some of you decide which one to buy.

I mainly use them to apply liquid foundation.

They are all good brushes, but among the three, I like the e.l.f. Beautifully Bare Blending Brush the best. It performs just as well as the other 2 and so much cheaper. Very soft. I like this smaller size better than the large Sephora 53XL because it gives better control.

SEPHORA COLLECTION Pro Full Coverage Airbrush #53XL – gets the job done fast and effortlessly, it has the most expensive feel among the three. If you like that luxury feel, then go for this one! Is it a must-have? Not for me, but it’s nice to have and I do enjoy using it.

NYX Pro Fan Brush – I think the elf and Sephora brushes are better in applying liquid foundation than this NYX fan brush. But it’s very versatile, you may also use it for highlighting, contouring and applying finishing powder. It has high-end feel, well built, picks up more highlighting powder than a thin fan brush. Get it when Ulta has NYX buy 1 get 1 sale.

I own many Sigma products. Here are some of my favorites and I use them all the time.

SIGMA DRY’N SHAPE TOWER® FACE & EYES($45, sorry this one is not on sale) – I love it! This is my favorite way of drying and even storing my brushes. If it’s broken, I’ll get another one. I don’t like those brush trees selling on the amazon and ebay. You can dry more brush on this tower and it’s more space efficient.

SIGMA DRY’N SHAPE TOWER® EYES($15.60, reg. $39) – If you wash 20+ eye brushes one time, get this one! If not, then you don’t need it. The face&eye tower should be enough. But now it’s only $15.60, then just get it?!

2X SIGMA SPA® BRUSH CLEANING GLOVE (black $15.60, reg. $39) – I am using this one all the time! It’s easier to use it with liquid soap.

SIGMA SPA® EXPRESS BRUSH CLEANING MAT($25, not on sale) – if you marathon wash 30+ brushes a time, this is a good one to have! I use the glove more often because I try not to wash too many brushes a time.

Here are my brushes – F80($25), E60($5.60 in coral), E55($8 in black and copper), E25($16), E65($4.9 in blue, reg. $14)! I also own other Sigma brushes but these are the ones I use most often. I have more than one of each these brushes, see how much I like them! If you ask me to choose only one Sigma brush, I take the Flat Kabuki F80! Buy the 5 pcs Kabuki kit($37.80) if you are interested.

I also like the Concealer brush F75, not in the picture, the copper one is on sale for $8, reg. $16.

In general, Sigma brushes are better than the drugstore ones, they are 5 to 10 times more expensive but the performance is not 5 to 10 times better, however, when sale like that and prices dropped to the drugstore brushes level, it’s time to get them!
